Clamping fixtures: It all depends on the right fit

For our specialists, precision manufacturing begins outside the workspace of a CNC machining center. The Technology People have their own designers and technical engineers with many years of experience, who focus entirely on hydraulic clamping fixtures for holding the workpieces. This knowledge of clamping fixtures makes our clamping systems as individual as your workpieces and as durable as our machines. We know the requirements for suitable clamping concepts and high clamping forces to achieve outstanding results.

Jig and fixture construction
with state-of-the-art software tools

We adapt the clamping fixtures individually to the workpieces and design them with CAD. With fault circuit analyses, our specialists ensure that the clamping devices make optimum use of the working space of the machines. They also carry out a collision check between tools and the clamping device before design approval, thus avoiding unpleasant surprises during commissioning.

Maximum 4-micron tolerance

When assembling the fixtures at our plant, we only use clamping elements from the series production of world-renowned manufacturers. Before delivery, we test function and tightness on our hydraulic test stand. Finally, we measure each fixture on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). This also gives each SW fixture its own measurement report for documentation. For SW fixtures, we allow a maximum of just 4 microns of tolerance to the spindle – a value that is highly competitive in the industry.

Customized fixtures and flexibility are not a contradiction for SW machines. If you manufacture component families, we design change parts for clamping devices. This allows you to convert to the respective variants quickly and cost-effectively. We leave nothing to chance; 3D process simulations with machines, fixtures and tools ensure functionality and cycle time during operation in advance.

SW focuses on both precision and service life with clamping devices and their maximum efficiency in use. A decisive aspect is complete machining in only one clamping position, because it significantly reduces cycle times. Such solutions require the expertise and experience of our fixture construction specialists, which pays off in every cycle.
