This configuration allows for scaling according to demand. Example: Use 2x the S-cell for 20 parts/hour and add 2 more for 40 parts/hour – unlike traditional dedicated systems that are designed for maximum capacity and waste resources at lower volumes. The flexible orchestration system maximizes equipment utilization by sharing resources across multiple workpiece types.

Smart orchestration software (SW SmartFlow)

S-cell was developed as a standard unit comprising the following:
| Stable robotplatform as base frame with protective enclosure, control cabinet, access protection, and maintenance door.
| KUKA industrial robots with a payload capacity of 50 kg to 300 kg.
| Secure anchoring of the S-cell to the floor using four docking units to ensure maximum robot speed.
| Coolant collection tray in the base frame with integrated cooling lubricant drain device.
| Integrated storage shelf for grippers and tools.
| Image processing system in conjunction with positioning markers for high-precision position calibration of the robot when changing workstations.
| Power supply to the robot via the interface at the respective workstation.
| Robot platform interface to AMR for safe and automated transport of the S-cell to the workstations.
| Fixed workpiece storage station in front of each workstation with two spaces for mobile workpiece storage.
| Mobile workpiece storage that enables workpieces to be transported and made available universally along the process chain with the AMR.
