Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH (SW) has developed its own SW CloudPlatform to provide customers with even clearer and more user-friendly access to the machine data of their machining centers. This creates optimal conditions for customers for continuous performance monitoring and predictive maintenance. By 2020, all functionalities will be successively transferred from the previous cloud solution to the new system.
SW has been offering its customers access to machine data via a portal since 2004, making it a pioneer in the industry. In order to be able to present this information in an even more modern and clear way in the future, SW has developed its own cloud solution based on GE’s IIoT platform Predix, which will enable quality and production targets to be achieved even more effectively.
The cloud solution is part of the holistic “life” service concept and belongs to the “life data” module: It expands the data services portfolio, which in addition to online services also includes the components digitization consulting, energy monitoring, factory simulation and data analytics. These service modules are to be further expanded in the future in order to proactively meet all the challenges of Industry 4.0.
