The Technology People’s will to perform pays off – congratulations to Helene Hauser and Marius Dreher!
Changing the manufacturing world? This is concrete and incredibly motivating. This is what trainees at SW know: Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH is the world market leader for multi-spindle machining centers. However, the global player from Waldmössingen is not only a machine manufacturer, but above all a system supplier including automation and digitization solutions – and thus offers perfect conditions for trainees. From the company’s own academy to dedicated trainers and a firmly anchored commitment to progress, tomorrow’s junior staff will find everything their “trainee heart” desires here. Added to this are attractive benefits such as pay above the standard pay scale, team events, bonuses, capital-forming benefits, opportunities for further development at the SW Academy, business bike leasing, and leisure and family-friendly working time models.
Excellent examples: Helene Hauser and Marius Dreher
Trainees at SW are taken along from the start and integrated into the “Technology People” team. Together, they develop customer-specific system solutions that change the manufacturing world. A little high? “No,” think Helene Hauser and Marius Dreher and agree: “Here at SW, you learn what the future can be. Here, we change our customers’ manufacturing – we enable them to make their visions come true – for example, in the field of e-mobility. All of this gives being an apprentice a special meaning right from the start. It’s motivating and fun.”
Helene Hauser completed her dual study program in “Mechatronics” with a dream grade of 1.1 and was honored by the DHBW Stuttgart, Horb Campus, with the Company Award 2021. She now works as a developer in the Development Research & Trials department at SW.
Marius Dreher is studying Plus at SW in the field of mechanical and plant engineering. He has currently passed his associated qualification as an industrial mechanic with an excellent grade point average of 1.3. He also received an award from the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce for his special achievements.
The first part of his 4.5 years of training at SW is now over. Now follows a full-time course of study at Furtwangen University (Schwenningen Campus).
“Helene and Marius are top examples, which is why we rely on strong in-house training at SW,” explains Dirk Christen (HR Training Manager). “We can only congratulate both of them on their excellent performance and are of course delighted to have such good people in our team. That’s also important, because as ‘technology people’ our expertise is what sets us apart. Challenging and promoting junior staff is the basis for future success.”
Special teamwork for special, social purposes
Trainees at SW also receive solid preparation for networked work in a high-tech company – for example, in the “SW Tec Cube” learning concept, to which Marius Dreher also contributed. Technical and commercial trainees work in four teams on a specific task: to develop and build a technology cube for a social institution that supports the daily work there.
“This quickly gives you great insights into working life and you see how a project grows over months,” says Marius Dreher. “That was particularly motivating – and, of course, that the result was really needed and would benefit people in need.”
Dirk Christen explains the learning approach: “For teamwork to work well, you need both specialist knowledge and social skills. We will also be working in teams later on in our professional lives – so it’s an advantage to learn these skills in a practical way right from the start. At the same time, the Tec Cube project conveys our SW principles in a very practical way: Humanity, motivation, courage, responsibility and reliability.
Outstanding performance at the nationally contested “playbizz
At SW, progress therefore starts with the youngest “technology people”: the junior staff of tomorrow. The success of the trainee and student team in the nationwide business simulation “playbizz” shows that these are also promoted. Here, the SW team 2021 brought the victory and thus the “German championship” to Waldmössingen right at the first participation. The company wants to defend this title in the coming year and is still looking for trainee reinforcements. For more information, please visit www.sw-machines.de/karriere.
