The new, intelligent solution from SW simplifies the day-to-day operation of the machine.

Smartphones have redefined the operation of digital technologies, the human-machine interface, and shaped it for decades. Shifting hardware buttons to the user interface, swiping and zooming are functions taken for granted on smartphones and other end devices. With the new C|one control panel, SW is transferring this familiar user-friendliness to use on the shop floor. The slim but robust aluminum housing in the new design is ergonomically height-adjustable. To ensure that the employee has everything in view during operation, he can swivel the display as desired. SW’s developers have consistently reduced the hardware controls to what is absolutely necessary. For example, the operator switches the multifunctional rotary control to different modes via touch. The multi-touch capable display is designed to meet the special requirements of production. An intelligent touch controller is integrated into the control panel, which minimizes the risk of operating errors due to palm rest, water or dirt, and provides real-time capability for safe operation. A customized user interface provides all other tools for operating the machine and can be adapted to the situation at hand.

“Easy operation of machines is becoming increasingly important in times of a global shortage of skilled workers,” affirms Reiner Fries, Managing Director of SW. “The new control panel shows how intelligent solutions can be
can make everyday operations easier.”

The new control panel is available for the BA 2 and BA W02 machine series. Over the next few years, it will be used successively in other machine models.
