Growth course unbroken: SW inaugurates new administration building at Waldmössingen site

Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH (SW) continues to grow: sales have increased by 80 percent in the last four years and the workforce at the Waldmössingen site has grown from 320 to 560 employees in the same period. This made it necessary to build a new administration building at the company’s headquarters, which was inaugurated in a three-day event from June 22 to 24, 2017: In addition to an evening event with 200 invited guests (June 22), the event included a technology day with guided tours and technical presentations followed by a ceremony (June 23) and an open day (June 24), which some 3,000 visitors took advantage of to tour the SW site.

The company, which employs around 700 people worldwide, intends to continue investing in both its German headquarters and foreign subsidiaries in the future: “Effective July 1, 2017, we acquired part of the Arte M buildings across the street, so we have additional expansion options here at the site should the company continue to perform so well – which we firmly believe it will,” explains Markus Schmolz, commercial director at SW. “In addition, in Q3 2017, we will inaugurate our new site in the U.S., more specifically in Lyon County in the state of Michigan.”
