Waldm\u00f6ssigen, 17.05.2023. Schw\u00e4bische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH (SW) officially broke ground for the construction of a new production hall on May 17. Thanks to a good order situation, the machine manufacturer is once again investing in the company headquarters in Schramberg-Waldm\u00f6ssingen. A photovoltaic system on the roof of the hall will provide green energy. In addition to expanding production capacity, SW is also significantly expanding the existing technology center and creating additional space for employee training and development.SW Machines Hungary Kft.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

“Training, research, production – everything in the immediate vicinity,” says Stefan Weber, Managing Director of Production and Technology at SW. “We are proud that our new production hall will enable us to continue to meet our customers’ growing demand for top-quality solutions in the future.” With the new building, the world market leader for multi-spindle machining centers is underlining the undiminished importance of its founding location in the Black Forest – a clear commitment with corresponding long-term prospects for the employees and the business location of Schramberg. This was also welcomed by Mayor Dorothee Eisenlohr and business promoter Ralf Heinzelmann from the town of Schramberg, who presented good wishes and small gifts to mark the start of the construction phase.<\/p>\n

The company is investing around eleven million euros in the expansion measures. Peter Motzer GmbH from Schramberg-Sulgen is responsible for the construction management, and construction is expected to take 15 months. With a total area of around 4,300 square meters, the new hall offers sufficient space for the expansion of production capacities. In addition, almost 1,500 square meters will be available from mid-2024 for the expansion of the technology center as well as for training and education purposes. According to Weber, the new operating and training space in the SW Academy will make it possible to keep up with the good order situation and at the same time counteract the shortage of skilled workers by providing qualified training.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

World market leader relies on its own energy<\/strong>
\nSince May, a photovoltaic system with an output of 2.2 megawatts peak, i.e. an annual output of approx. 2,200,000 kWh, on the roof of SW-Magazin has been making a direct contribution to sustainable energy supply at the site. This makes the PV system, which was connected to the grid after a construction period of around 9 months, currently the largest (rooftop) PV system in the district of Rottweil. As part of the new building, a further PV system with an output of 200 kWp is now being added on the roof of the new hall. The two photovoltaic systems are part of a series of activities that the company is continuously implementing as part of its ecological optimization. “Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us, but is actively and holistically practised – whether in new technologies or in and on our company buildings,” emphasizes Stefan Weber.
\nSince 1995, SW has been setting standards for precision, efficiency and sustainability in the processing of materials of all kinds – both for individual machines and for complete, automated production lines. In future, these can be manufactured in Waldm\u00f6ssingen on a significantly larger production area: The signs at SW continue to point clearly to growth.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
